Blue sky, glossy skin and a brighter smile,
Sunday morning rains and my colorful books pile;
The songs of the little cuckoo near my window,
All come together to paint on me, the golden summer glow.
Summer has not always been easy on us. Despite the sweat and the turmoil during summers in the capital city, there is something about these days that fills my heart with joy. The first sight of ripe mangoes straight from my uncle’s farm or the joy when we sipped the lemonades my mom made for me and my friends, I relate summer to that. The evenings under the stars where my dad made me and my friends develop stories of wild horses and distressed princess, I relate summer to that. I also relate summer to falling in love. A mouthful of poetic romance, painting blank canvas in colors from the world under water, spending a little extra time at home and opening myself to whole new array of possibilities…this is summer to me.
I am sure I can go on and on about my love for my summertime memories, but I will stop. I realized sometime back that I have not done a single post on “desi vibes”. Though ethnic wear is not my everyday style, I still love wearing the look more often than I imagined. Cotton kurtas and pajamas are my absolute favorite. I mostly love solid kurtas or maybe with a tiny bit of embroidery, but this printed kurta was “love at first sight”. For this shoot, I teamed the kurta with a chikan embroidery palazzo . It worked well in terms of keeping the heat off me. I love flowy clothes and this combination works for me every time I tend to go ethnic. As for accessories, I only wore a pair of hooped jhumkas. I am not good with makeup, but I managed this one with light eye makeup, nude lipstick and pink cheeks. I hope you like the pictures.
Have a great week everyone!
